My Teaching Philosophy

 I believe that students should be treated as equals and feel comfortable in the classroom. Students deserve to have input into their learning and their classroom set-up/environment. As a teacher it is my responsibility to teach my students and have them feel safe in my classroom. Being a successful teacher means my students will leave the classroom at the end of the year feeling smarter, kinder, comfortable, and confident within their education and themselves. In order for this to happen there are 3 things I need to do: create a safe and comfortable environment, make sure my students basic needs are being met (SEL and food, water), and have prepared lesson plans for my students that are level and age appropriate and relate to their lives.
